In a fastball career that spanned 20 years, Guy enjoyed seasons when he led the Circle Fastball League in home runs and batting average. In 1986 and 1987 he was with the Verona Merchants when they won Ontario Amateur Softball Association Intermediate A championships.

In hockey, Guy played defence with the Kingston Frontenacs when they were Ontario Hockey Association junior B finalists in 1962. He played four years at St. Thomas University, where he was team captain and the school’s Athlete of the Year in 1967.
