Betty Bush

Biography:

Betty was a curling volunteer, teacher, organizer, clinician and board member who earned a reputation for excellence in competition on a nation level.

A Royal Kingston Curling Club member since 1979, Betty's name appears ninety-one times on local trophies and plaques for victories in league play and bonspiels, including six times as RKCC Women's Club Champion. She won the Kingston City Championship on five different occasions, in 2000, 2004, 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Her reputation for curling excellence extends to the provincial and national stages. In 1985, she was the winner of the Stanley-Gauthier Trophy for the Ladies' Curling Association of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, followed by a second place finish in the Ontario Intermediates in 1991. She was a finalist at the Ontario Women's Tankard in 1994, 1995 and 2004, and was a runner-up at the Ontario Senior Women's Championship on four occasions. A finalist five times at the Ontario Master Women's Championship, Betty won the Ontario tournament in 2006 and 2009 and competed in the Canadian Master Women's Championships in both those years, winning silver in 2006 and bronze in 2009.

Over a 30 year period, Betty was an Ontario zone winner from 1985 to 2014.
