Jack Aldridge

Biography:

Jack's career in education was marked by extensive involvement with Kingston youth in a wide variety of athletic endeavors.

Since arriving in Kingston in 1961, Jack has coached football, basketball, rugby, soccer and track in area high schools. He provided leadership to local coaches through his involvement with athletic governing bodies. He served as the President of the County of Frontenac Secondary School Athletics Association (CFSSAA) for seven years and the Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletics Association (EOSSAA) for eight years, as well as chairing the Athletic Directors' Association.

Jack was a tireless organizer and motivator in the larger community. He coached in the Pacers Basketball League for 5 years. In 1992, Jack established the North Kingston Basketball Camp, an affordable summer camp for youth. He served as Camp Director, head coach and chief fundraiser for fifteen years.

Jack's efforts have been recognized by local and provincial organizations. He received the Frontenac County Golden Apple Award (1985) and the Kiwanis Club Builders' Recognition (1995). In 1997, Jack received the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation Excellence in Education Award and the Frontenac County Board of Education Outstanding Service Award. He received the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship (1998) and the Investors Group Sports Administrators Award (2008).
